Windsor Forest Colleges group is looking for a Technician in Electrical to join our Structural Technologies Department at our Slough and Langley campus on a full-time permanent basis.

Technician in Electrical

This full-time Technician in Electrical role involves working 37 hours per week Monday – Friday on all-year-round basis at Slough and Langley College, reporting to the Head of Department – Structural Technologies. It is on Scale G of our Support Staff pay scale offering a salary between G17 £25,483 up to G19 £27,284.  

The main purpose of the Technician in Electrical role is to support the Structural Technologies department by ensuring the efficient and safe operation of workshops. Key responsibilities include maintaining equipment, managing stores and stock levels of consumables, assisting teachers with practical sessions, and supporting students during End Point Assessments. The Technician in Electrical is also responsible for maintaining a clean workshop environment, conducting safety inspections, performing repairs, and adhering to all college policies regarding health, safety, and risk management.

To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess a Level 2 trade qualification specifically in Electrical, along with a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths. Applicants must demonstrate experience working in a workshop setting with machining tools and equipment. While not required, experience working with young people or within an educational environment is desirable. The role requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, while maintaining organized, methodical work practices.
